ADAY.org is attempting an audacious goal. They are trying to capture a day. To be clear, they are asking everyone, and I do mean everyone, to capture a photo of their daily life on May 15.
The idea is to create a virtual time capsule of sorts and preserve for future generations a day in the life of our lives, and world.
I find this to be a very compelling idea but beyond just being interesting I think this snapshot of daily life in 2012, from all around the globe, could provide invaluable data to those that come after us.
Evidently, I'm not the only one that thinks this idea...

This isn't one of the best photos I've ever taken but it's certainly one of the most memorable, and one of my favorites.
Amy and I were desperately trying to get to this location to view Half Dome Rock before sunset. We had to travel up a winding road and it took us much longer than we expected. Because of the thick forest along the road, it felt like it was just getting too dark and that we were going to miss it. When we got to the first clearing, however, we realized we still had some time. I grabbed a couple of travel tripods and hurried to get some shots.
I got a bunch of photos...

I got this shot of my daughter while playing around with an off-camera flash. She looks great no matter what but I do like the dramatic feel of this shot.

Even though the fire that caused this had happened a very long time before we arrived on the scene, it still smelled smoky and like a smoldering cinder. The landscape was sad and beautiful at the same time.

Most of the time I lower the color level in my photos to get an understated look but this time I decided to up the colors a bit and try to make it look more like a painting.

This is not my picture. I didn't take it but I wish I had. I came across it on the web and I just couldn't get over it. This combines two things that fascinate me; photography and flight.
I can't tell you guys how bad I want to take a photo like that and, God willing, someday I will.
