I'm learning a lot about exposure these days.  It seems that for every rule I learn in photography there is some exception.  In this photo, my daughter was backlit so I opened the exposure to expose her face.  This, of course, caused the background to be seriously over exposed but I knew I was trying to blow it out. I particularly love the catch light in her eyes.  This is something that I'm becoming more and more aware of as I do portraits like this.  I was a little worried that the hair in her face would be distracting but I think it gives the photo a more care free...
